This is a historical fantasy game, and therefore does not abide by historical realism or historically accurate etiquette.
Instead, we adapted widely recognised Regency social rules to our game design to increase playability without sacrificing the angst, drama, and yearning of the historical social stakes.
The traditional gender roles found in Regency settings will remain largely the same—with plenty of tamped-down female oppression and unequal social power between genders—but with different outcomes and weight. The primary elements that have been adapted to fit our historical fantasy model: chaperoning, scandal, attitudes toward queerness, and Inheritance Law.

This guide is a living document, meaning that rules may be added or altered prior to the game. Any changes that are made will be denoted with two asterisks (**) and announced during the workshops on our setting’s reimagined regency etiquette and social stakes.
