The primary theme of this larp is Romance.
In accordance with the requirements of the Romance genre, this larp is designed to assure the Happily Ever Afters of its characters. This is ensured through the partnered sign-up model, which requires that partnered characters end up together by the game’s conclusion.
This larp is not designed to be a solely Type 1 or feel-good game. Storylines and pairings are crafted for drama, emotional mayhem, and a myriad of twists and turns. The only aspect that is predetermined is the ending. How your character attains their Happily Ever After is entirely up to you and your partner.

Secondary themes at this larp include jealousy, scandal, class barriers, inheritance drama, illegitimacy, grief, marriages of convenience, social pressure, familial expectations, wealth, status & reputation, secret identities, and many more!
Basically, all the juicy Regency conflict one could hope for in a non-realistic game about romance among the upper class.
Freeform Playstyle
Dearest Debutante is a freeform, Nordic-style larp with an opt-out and slow escalation playstyle.
This means that physical touch is on the table and calibration (outside of scheduled off-game breaks) should be minimised in favor of a go-with-the-flow, improvisational approach.
We employ and teach a variety of meta techniques to enable players to communicate their boundaries and comfort levels without breaking immersion.
Slow escalation is strongly recommended to give players time to gauge their internal comfort in-game. This playstyle is demonstrated and practiced during workshops to ensure that players are experienced and understanding of when and how discomfort might arise.
